Weather Zones

Climate is defined as the average weather conditions in an area over a long period of time. There are three climate zones in the world. These zones are called the polar zone, tropical zone, and the temperate zone.

The polar zone has the coldest climate. It is located around the north and south poles. This area has very little sunlight. The polar zone is known to have snow all year around due to the extremely cold temperatures. There is no definite seasons in the polar zone.

The tropical zone is just the opposite of the polar zone. In the tropical zones you can find very hot temperatures and a lot of rain. This zone is located just to the north and south of the equator. Just like the polar zone, the tropical zones have no definite seasons.

The third weather zone is the temperate zone. Most of the United States falls in the temperate zone. In this zone you can find hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter, making this the only zone that has definite seasons.

I like living in the temperate zone because I like to swim in the summer and ice skate in the winter. I just wish we would get some snow here in Dublin, GA.
