Science: S4E3. Students will differentiate between the states of water and how they relate to the water cycle and weather. a. Demonstrate how water changes states from solid (ice) to liquid (water) to gas (water vapor/steam) and changes from gas to liquid to solid. b. Identify the temperatures at which water becomes a solid and at which water becomes a gas. c. Investigate how clouds are formed. d. Explain the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, and precipitation) e. Investigate different forms of precipitation and sky conditions. (rain, snow, sleet, hail, clouds, and fog). Language Arts: ELA4W2. The student produces informational writing (e.g., report) that: a. Engages the reader by establishing a context, creating a speaker's voice, and otherwise developing reader interest. b. Frames a central question about an issue or situation. c. Creates an organizing structure appropriate to a specific purpose, audience, and context. d. Includes appropriate facts and details. e. Excludes extraneous details and inappropriate information. f. Uses a range of appropriate strategies, such as providing facts and details, describing or analyzing the subject, and narrating a relevant anecdote. g. Draws from more than one source of information such as speakers, books, newspapers, and online materials. h. Provides a sense of closure to the writing.
